This blog has moved!

I've finally sorted out a new version of this blog on my own server... a slave to blogger.com no more!

And it means that www.soundslikeradio.net will actually go to the blog.

So change your bookmarks to www.soundslikeradio.net

The new blog is still under construction, so bear with me a little while, but it should make it easier to do certain things, and will hopefully teach me a bit about php, too!

There will probably be a short hiatus in new postings for a couple of weeks, unfortunately. I don't think I've ever been this busy in my life. Long hours at work, heaps of gigs doing sound for a band I work for, and trying to meet up with people I haven't seen in ages mean I'm not home much.

I've got some cool projects coming up for soundslikeradio, though. Fresh Live is very much in the works, and my first ever visit to Glastonbury will yield a special edition of Fresh.

So keep checking back, and I'll get another show going as soon as I can. See you soon!

Fresh update

Hey there, fresh-fans.

I know I said there would be another edition of Fresh before I went on holiday, but sadly it's just not going to happen. Been really busy with the "Making of the album" documentary I'm working on for the band Hooker, who I played on last week's show.

So I'm taking the rest of the week off (from Fresh, at least...i'm still going to be working like a dog), and will be back after the 10th of April with some brand new tunes, fresh from mind to media player.

Thanks for tuning in, and I hope you'll come back in 2 weeks for the new edition.

The online music community is a wonderful thing. Unprecedented access to music has caused a great surge in the music industry, particularly in variety and, most important of all, live music. Sometimes it seems like everyone involved in music on the web, be it listener, artist, podcaster, net label, whatever, is working in harmony toward a more open, friendly place. They are utterly convinced that good music needs to be enjoyed by all, and that we don’t have to be force-fed a handful of prominent, mediocre artists by the record label and radio station sectors.

Let me just say one thing that sometimes gets overshadowed by the global struggle itself: there is some absolutely phenomenal music out there that sadly only a select few know about.

Look around your community; wherever in the world you are, go and support a local band at a local venue.

I promise you, you'll have a great time.

Stuck two fingers up at my old webhost, got myself a new one, and Fresh is back!

And it's the 10th show! And guess what else? The other day soundslikeradio.net broke the 1000 hits per day mark! That's right! (Just as my site went down, of course...)

Help Needed...

Hey folks.

I need some help... This is an appeal for a place on the net to store the mp3 files from soundslikeradio for a short while.

My web host has cut off my account for some reason (they still haven't got back to me), and there'll be no more soundslikeradio until I find somewhere to host the files!!

So if anyone has some space on their server, that can handle a bit of traffic, let me know! It'll only be for a short time until i find a new webhost and get everything sorted...

Rather than offend your eyes with a terribly-designed, bodge-job of a website from yours truly, I've switched soundslikeradio over to this blog until the real yummy website is ready for display.

So, as you can see on the side bar, you'll soon be able to podcast soundslikeradio. Very exciting, I'm sure you'll agree. I'm currently wading through printed-out online tutorials, trying to explain to the very stupid (me), how to sort out RSS feeds, XML, and all that other fun stuff.

Until then, I hope you're enjoying the tunes, and keep coming back, as the next show is nearly ready for broadcast.
